Review of Well Suited by Staci Hart

Well Suited
by Staci Hart

“To those who aren't sure if love is real: Love believes enough for the both of you.”

Staci Hart is the queen of RomCom, but I knew the second I read this dedication that the final installment of the RLC was going to wreck me. I’ve been reading, and reviewing the Red Lipstick Coalition books since the beginning, and from the moment I jumped into this world I was head over heels in love with the incredible friendships that Staci had put at the forefront of the books.

The friendships came first—period.

The girls all have their own brand of weird, but Katherine was always the one that I couldn’t quite figure out. So, needless to say, I was very excited to get my hands on Well Suited. ESPECIALLY after Staci left us hanging in an epilogue that told us she was PREGNANT. (Rude—hehe)

“My name is Katherine, with a K. Not Kate. Not Katie or Kat. Katherine.”

Just read that sentence people! I was shakin’ in my boots wondering how in the hell sweet ol’ Theo was going to tame this tigress. She approaches every single situation from a scientific, factual, matter completely devoid of emotions. Theo is an asteroid full of emotions that smashes straight into Katherine’s world.

“If I had my way, we’d have our happy ending. I was gonna marry that girl one day. Someday. But for starters, I’d happily settle for a kiss.”

Theo loves Katherine. Beyond logic, beyond timeframes, beyond reasoning, he loves her the second he spins her around that dance floor and before he puts a baby in her womb. Katherine knows she feels something—so, rationally she completely avoids him until morning sickness forces her back into the presence of her new baby daddy.

She wants the best for her baby, and that means she needs Theo in their lives.

He wants a family and for Katherine—or Kate, as he’s taken to calling her—to move in with him immediately.

The love story that unfolds from here is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Kate is so very misunderstood, but when she opens the door a crack Theo starts to see why this beautiful woman grew into this logic and fact fueled creature before him. Their story is a dance of sorts—there are rules, steps, and progressions. There’s give and take in a perfectly balanced equation.
Katherine starts to let go of some of her control, but she just isn't sure she believes in love or the need for marriage.

And there are some things Theo just isn’t sure he can live without.

“I was a stranger to myself. But I didn’t want to go back to who I had been. I couldn’t if I tried.”

Kate and Theo are connected in ways they can't escape—a sweet little baby that is bound and determined to thwart any birth plans that the couple had planned. Chaos ensues, a baby is on the way, and Kate and Theo have to try and find a way back to one another. Back to love.

Well Suited is a masterpiece. It’s the perfect ending to such a sweet world. The friendship between the girls is still as beautiful in this book as it was in the first, and everyone has a reason to wear that red lipstick. I was thrilled to find out how Katherine would use hers (and I cannot ruin that juicy detail for any reader). Theo is the man every woman dreams about. He’s understanding, bursting at the seams with love, and handsome af to boot. He knows that it’s going to be a long game with Kate, and he’s ready for it.

Staci, I’m so sad to see the end of this incredible series. You have such a knack for writing relatable but original characters. They’re in situations we’ve all been in or been close to, and you put a new spin on it with a hearty dash of humor.

I wish I could live in this world a little while longer.
I wish the epilogues didn’t gut me and give me life all at the same time.
But that’s your special brand of magic, and I can't wait for more.

As always, thank you so much for trusting me with an ARC, and for allowing me to be part of your ARC team.
