Review of American Parable

By Christian Sterling

“ ‘You can't get angry at me for taking some course of action you don’t like. At least I’m doing something.’ He turned and walked towards the door. As he twisted the gold knob to leave, Kind Eyes spoke behind the newspaper
‘Just because you haven’t seen me take action, doesn’t mean my will isn’t already in motion.’
Dark Eyes smiled. ‘Fair enough. Let the games begin,’ he answered with a grin.”

Christian Sterling absolutely S L A Y E D this story.
Admittedly, when I started reading this book, I felt a little lost. That had nothing to do with Sterling’s writing—there were just so many characters and storylines that I needed to settle into. Once I found that groove though, my goodness!

This is a genre outside of my usual comfort zone, and I’m so glad that I had the chance to read it!

When you open the pages of this book you enter the dark and wild world of the United States most notorious gangs. The Revelators, DC-2, Young guns, and Rowdy boys will suck you into their wars, and you will not be able to put this book down.

I was so incredibly impressed with Sterling’s ability to write totally original personalities and voices for each and every character in the book, and he wove such an intricately connected web between the four gangs.

THEN he throws in some small chapters here and there that focus on two unnamed characters that are pulling some MAJOR strings. I couldn’t get enough of them, and when the book ended I realized they would be gracing the pages of the next installment with their mysterious conversations.

Between crazy ass spies, gang wars, and forbidden love interests, this book will absolutely keep you on your toes and flipping pages.

I want to thank Christian Sterling for gifting me a review copy of his novel!
